Critical space availability solved through close supplier ties

In late April, our team of project transport experts received an RFQ outlining the urgent requirement for the fastest transit time and space confirmation available. The shipment was expected to be ready for shipping by the end of May. 

Given the dimensions (11 meters long x 12,5 tons per unit) and physical attributes of the 46 electric buses defining the shipment as dangerous goods, RORO is deemed the best delivery method. However, RORO space availability out of China is limited, making finding a suitable carrier critical to successful delivery.

The network effect at work

The project team's close network and good relations with several RORO carriers become critical to the successful delivery. The customer receives two sailing options meeting their shipment requirements, and after our experts negotiate the space and terms, subsequently, the shipment is booked, handled, and delivered on time.

Expanding on the collaboration, the customer says: 'We experienced a smooth documentation flow, received competitive rates, efficient and timely schedule management, and, not least, we felt informed at all times no matter the commercial or operational request we put forward.'   

The local team's experience and know-how from similar projects also significantly impacted the efficient project transport. From booking to terminal handling, and carrier coordination at ports of loading and discharge, including all document handling, the 46 heavy electric buses safely reached their final destination, ready to hit the roads of Korea.

The fruitful collaboration with the customer and the selected carrier is expected to manifest more shipments of this kind.
