The main shipping lanes have resumed traffic while operations at the berth and warehouse areas are gradually returning to normal. Only exception of course is the areas close to the blasts site. There would be certain delay with the sailing, terminal handling etc., but we can expect the situation to turn back to normal either this week or early next week.
We still suggest to our customers to do factory loading (export) instead of terminal loading during these two weeks, since the port terminal is not yet fully operational. Further, we still do not know whether the area has been polluted, and until that is determined, the terminal area is still at risk of being suspended again.
Dangerous goods are still not allowed to enter Tianjin port area, export bookings are not being accepted by any carrier and when it comes to import cargo, we still suggest considering Qingdao and Dalian as a backup options until further updates.
