Logistics for Global Expansion

Since May 2023, Scan Global Logistics has been providing comprehensive logistics solutions for a customer specializing in air filtration equipment and media. This project involves handling shipments from China to the USA and subsequently from the USA to Saudi Arabia, supporting the customer’s growth linked to the expansive NEOM project in Saudi Arabia.

 

Challenge

The company faced significant challenges with their previous logistics providers, primarily due to:

  • Inadequate personal service and communication issues.
  • Difficulty managing the complex import and export processes required for their equipment.

These problems led to missed deadlines and unreliable scheduling, impacting their ability to meet installation deadlines and support their expanding operations in Saudi Arabia.

 

Solution

We addressed these challenges with a tailored approach:

  • Dedicated Customer Service: Leveraged the exceptional customer service of the Atlanta team ensuring smooth communication and personalized support.
  • Coordinated Import and Export: Facilitated the import of cargo from China and managed the re-export to Saudi Arabia through close collaboration between the Import and Export teams, minimizing the customer’s involvement in the logistics process.
  • Reliable Scheduling: Provided accurate and timely schedules, allowing the company to offer dependable timelines to their end clients, supporting project deadlines and planning.

 

Results

The solution delivered substantial benefits:

  • Timely Installation: Ensured that all deadlines for equipment installation at the destination were met.
  • Improved Scheduling: Enabled the company to provide their production teams with reliable schedules, enhancing operational efficiency.
  • Business Growth: Supported the company’s expansion in Saudi Arabia, contributing to new client acquisition related to the NEOM project. The company has experienced significant growth, with logistics now requiring a full-time team of two people compared to one when SGL first engaged.

We now handle approximately 10 TEU per month, including airfreight import and export, as well as domestic transportation. With SGL’s effective management and service, the customer continues to grow right along side us.
