The project started in 2020, and despite various constraints and difficulties, such as the pandemic, transport bottlenecks and national legislation requirements, our team of experts established and found the required solutions.
Building relations with a young and growing market
Vietnam is a young country with a median age of only 32.5 years. The country has a strong focus on energy and had more than 4100 MW* in wind generation capacity in 2021. Now they are investing even more in the country’s massive potential for wind energy, thanks to Vietnam’s average wind speed of 7.2m/s at 100m.
According to Vietnam’s national Power Development Plan, the country expects to reach more than 151 GW of renewable energy by 2045, where solar will account for 36%, onshore wind 28% and offshore wind 36%.
The delivery of 16 complete wind turbine generators is evidence that Vietnam is focusing on wind energy and, in fact, is prioritizing wind over solar.
Major projects require major know-how
A project of this magnitude requires extensive experience in renewable energy logistics. We have just that.
Providing complete project management throughout the entire project on-site, as well as HSEQ support & guidance, we were responsible for receiving all components off arriving vessels. It included taking care of various port handling activities, inland river transportation by barges, offloading to the temporary jetty and final transport to the hardstand for erection.
The project required involvement from our national management, Industrial Project and Renewable Energy experts who thrive on these tasks.
Vietnam is paving the way for wind energy in Asia, and we are proud to be a trusted partner contributing to the green- & sustainable energy transition.
