Customer Advisory: India Lockdown

25 Mar, 2020

India have chosen to implement a strict lock-down in all districts with confirmed COVID-19 cases. As we speak, we have confirmation that all airports and ports are closed until March 31.

The lock-down is expected to impact almost all major cities in India, and will include a near total stop for cargo movement on both ocean freight as well as airfreight.

These steps have been taken by the Government of India in an attempt to halt the outbreak of COVID-19 which has increasingly spread in India over the last few weeks.

In addition to ocean ports and airports being impacted, a number of inter-state borders have also been closed restricting transport of cargo to and from transportation hubs as well.

We are as we speak working on establishing a full overview of the situation, including more detailed information on impacted ports and airports.

All customers directly affected by potential delays to and from India will be contacted directly.

We will continue to keep you informed and feel free to reach out to your regular contact person at Scan Global Logistics for further information.
