EFFIE award donated to children with cancer

13 Aug, 2012

Scan Global Logistics A/S recently won the transport industry EFFIE award 2012. The prize money is now donated to the Children’s Cancer Department at Rigshospitalet, Denmark’s largest hospital.

Delicious meals or entertainment for children and their families. These are some of the purposes that the donation given to the Children’s Cancer Department at Rigshospitalet will be used for. SGL recently won the transport industry EFFIE award 2012 and the DKK 10.000 prize money has now been donated to Rigshospitalet.

Troels Rasmussen, Director of Sales at SGL in Denmark says
The Children’s Cancer Department makes a huge effort for the children and we would like to support that. Rigshospitalet needs the support and the children deserve a better chance in life.

Troels Rasmussen personally handed over the prize which SGL recently received when winning the annual transport industry EFFIE award. The award acknowledges competent, innovative and energy efficient solutions and SGL won the award for the Asian Warehousing concept. The EFFIE award is donated by the Danish Freight Forwarders Association and the National Transportation Journal and the winner is committed to donate the prize to either charity or local associations.

Marianne Madsen, senior nursing officer at BørneUngeKlinikken at Rigshospitalet says
We are grateful that SGL chose donating the prize to us. This prize, and all other donations, is of great importance to the children and their families. The support enables us to improve the everyday life of the children in our department at Rigshospitalet. Perhaps more delicious meals or new toys. This is very important as the families often stay with us for quite long periods of time.
