Scan Global Logistics (SGL) and the shareholders of Interexpress have signed a Letter of Intent, which is expected to lead to the SGL’s acquisition of the activities of Interexpress.
The completion of the transaction is planned within the coming months.
”SGL has a designated strategy to grow their platform in the Nordic Region, Russia and Asia Pacific through organic growth such as recently disclosed larger contracts and through acquisitions. Interexpress provides a very good match to our growing trucking and trailer activities in the Nordic Region and adds an important foothold in Estonia where Interexpress operates a successful subsidiary”, says Thomas Nørgaard, Managing Director of SGL Denmark and responsible for the road activities in the Nordic Region.
Interexpress has offices in Västervik and Tallin and serves a number of high calibre industrial accounts between Estonia, Sweden, Russia and the European Continent and generated a turnover of approx. EUR 15 million in 2011.
”In order to continue our expansion and serve our customers in more markets we have come to the conclusion that we need to join forces with a large company that can provide resources for this development. SGL has the perfect profile for Interexpress and for our customers”, says Stefan Johansson, Managing Director and majority shareholder of Interexpress.
Peter Andersson, Managing Director, Mahe AB will be overall responsible for the merged activities. The mangement will be in close corporation with Stefan Johansson who will continue to have an important role in relation to the existing business of Interexpress.
